Monica Hapsari was born on 1983 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently, she is a part time illustrator, part time fashion stylist and a full time wonderer.

Once a semi finalist for “Lomba Perancang Mode Femina”, Monica joined GADIS Magazine (Femina Group) as an in-house fashion and beauty stylist in the early 2007. Here, she had her early encounter with the Indonesia’s fashion industry through teen fashion journalism and organising event such as the annual Jakarta Fashion Week.
Her first ever illustration was published in the GADIS Annual Edition 2007, and became the winner of the “7th Asia Media Award” that was held in Macau, China for the category “Best Design and Illustration for Magazine over 50.000 Exemplars”. She then had a deeper understanding about fashion industry when she joined the noted fashion magazine, A+ as an in-house fashion stylist. In 2009, she held her first group exhibition with hand-sewn beads paintings in Ruang Rupa, Jakarta.
Monica Hapsari is now working as a freelance fashion stylist, illustrator and visual artist with hand-crafted paintings. Her hand-drawing style, styling and writing had been published in many magazines also for several high end clients. She understand life is just too short to be thrown away on a passionless life. To live is to create, and to create is to honour the true core of universe itself.
