ABOUT THE ARTIST:

JOSHUA BUANA

Joshua Buana is the founder of the award winning Arch/tec Graphic design company based in Surabaya. His passion for the Arts go way back to his childhood when as a young child he was often seen sketching characters from his favourite books and playing his music instead of joining his friends in a game of football.

Born in Mojokerto in 1973, Joshua graduated from Petra University majoring in Architecture in 1996. Throughout his 19 years in the field of Graphics Design, Joshua is proud to have won some of the most prestigious Design Awards, most notably the Scopa Millenium and Conqueror Awards. Driven by his desire to contribute and support the Graphics Design industry in Surabaya, he and a few colleagues founded The Indonesian Association of Graphic Designers (ADGI), Surabaya Chapter.

A newfound love for expressing his aesthetic sense through the medium of photography combined with his passion for travelling has allowed Joshua to capture some stunning street photography which he prefers to express in black and white.His most impressive works capture the architecture of places and its people and articulates the balance and harmony between cultures, humanity and architecture all round the world.
