ABOUT THE ARTIST:

FERRY R. TAN

Born in Jakarta in 1956, Ferry R. Tan moved to the Netherlands in 1965. With a talent for photography, he established himself as a professional photographer in the early 1980s. His professional career started by doing commercial photography works for various companies in Holland and Germany. Ferry returned to Indonesia in 1995 to start his business and he currently lives in Jakarta.

As an aspiring photographer that is passionate about telling stories through still images, Ferry specializes in corporate photography, with themes ranging from architectural to advertisement and lifestyle. When he is not chasing light for his corporate clients, he surely wears the hat of a travel photographer.

Ferry works according to the “less is more” principle. He believes that the act of discovery lies in finding new eyes, rather than seeking new views. Other than being creative, it is equally important to remain innovative and therefore, it is crucial to share and combine ideas with clients to achieve top-notch images that are unique and cater for the client’s specific needs.
