ABOUT THE ARTIST:

RUTH MARBUN

Ruth Marbun is a visual artist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She accidentally took a turn to art after falsely convinced by her passion for fashion, only to realize that she needed a bigger space to speak her mind. After a degree and a couple years of experience in fashion industry abroad, London and Singapore, she came back home for good with a thirst for a new approach. She believes in the language of sincerity, the power of color, the dynamic of texture, and the importance of silent conversation between art and its onlooker. Her current works includes paintings, collaboration with music, and upcoming publishing that each narrates her questioning and amusements towards daily life wonders: process, habits, and interaction between human beings and their surroundings.
